We are an enthusiastic team of ex-client researchers, marketing experts, analysts, field controllers and admin who share a love for research, a deep interest in people and an enthusiasm for business.

Neil Grantham – Founder and Managing Director

Neil started his career in brand planning and product development at Allied Breweries and Quaker Oats. Following 7 years as a client, he joined leading qualitative agency Winstanley Douglas Ltd where he became a director and ultimately a partner, adding quantitative disciplines to the business.

In the two decades since WDG evolved Neil has worked across a broad range of B2C and B2B sectors in the UK and globe-wide. He is a hands-on master of his agency and enjoys taking on new business challenges.

Margot Grantham – Partner and Business Development Director

Margot embarked on a research and marketing career clientside working for companies such as Quaker, United Biscuits, Terry’s of York and Rothmans before joining WDG in 1996. Margot applies the same principle with clients as she did as a client herself: to clearly identify the benefit and use of research outcomes before embarking on a research programme. This approach treats marketing research as a valuable tool, an important input to developing commercial strategy.

During a recent career break, Margot turned her hand to supporting SMEs in Scotland, providing mentoring, networking and training. She is also passionate about developing the business potential in young people and has worked with Buckinghamshire Education Business Partnership.

Will Beard – Assistant Research Executive and Project Manager

Will began his career at WDG in 2017 as an apprentice and quickly adapted to life in research, assisting with large and small scale projects, organising recruitment, incentives, and assisting with client requests. He has worked across several different market sectors including automotive, healthcare, food and drink, and entertainment.

Will believes that preparation is key and allows time to ensure that all possible issues that may arise during research are identified and rectified to get the best possible outcomes for the client.

Our office-based team are committed to delivering research on time and to budget. Individual members of the team plan and control fieldwork, conduct mystery shopping, liaise with partners and clients in the UK and abroad, and ensure the process runs smoothly.

We are partnered with a number of professional researchers, market insight technologists, branding experts and marketing specialists in the UK and Europe.
